Keep in mind the interface in the deck isn't that fast, it's limited to UHS-I which is around 104MB\s max so something like a SanDisk Ultra will most likely be sufficient, also 1TB ones tend to be very poor value for money, stick to 512GB. #10. Depends on your definition of average; you'll need Sandisk Extreme Pro levels of performance to better than a HDD in random reads. Sandisk Ultra-types will need some luck (some lottery there), and anything less is as slow or slower. The newer eMMCs are pretty fast though, I assume it's going to be 5.1 spec, since that's been out for some time.
Would it be worth spending 10-30% more for the next tier of card (Sandisk extreme vs extreme pro) to shave 5-10 seconds off on transitions? For the steam deck, I wouldn't. As well, an ancillary drive's need for the IOPS increase between A1 and A2 cards are probably only a minor impact.
Even a less open-world game like needs 80GB of available storage. It will definitely be more suitable for smaller, indie-type games, or older games that needed less storage. So there is definitely a question mark as to whether the 64GB model will be viable for anyone other than very casual gamers. Or, as we said before, by streaming the game

I bought the 512gb because I didn't want to mess with opening mine up and screw something up putting in a bigger SSD. That and I like knowing I can have 1.5TB of storage if I buy a 1tb micro SD card. I purchased the 64gb one. Brought a 256 ssd for £23. Shall upgrade once it comes, seems like a killer deal to me..

There are two ratings within the UHS Speed Class: U1 (UHS Speed Class 1): minimum write speed of 10MB/s. U3 (UHS Speed Class 3): minimum write speed of 30MB/s. The UHS Speed Class is more commonly used nowadays than the Speed Class and many of the high-end cameras require at least a U3-rated memory card for many of its functions like recording IEFMyIm.
